About the Job
- Lead the plant Quality organization and promote Quality ownership across all functions, reinforcing that quality is built into the process rather than inspected into the product.
- Develop and execute the plant Quality Strategy, objectives, and improvement roadmap aligned with business priorities.
- Lead the transition from reactive to preventive quality through data-driven decision making, risk management, process controls, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and coach teams in structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, Pareto Analysis, and other root-cause analysis tools.
- Ensure timely and effective containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and customer communication.
- Monitor customer PPM, complaints, returns, warranty trends, and recurring quality issues, developing actions to improve performance.
- Lead customer quality activities and ensure customer requirements are effectively addressed.
- Oversee manufacturing and process quality to ensure consistent product and process performance.
- Lead incoming and supplier quality activities and support effective resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
- Maintain and continuously improve the plant Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Drive quality improvement through automation, digitalization, advanced inspection, and data analytics where technically and financially justified.
- Lead and develop Quality Engineers, Supplier/Incoming Quality, Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and related functions.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other functions to prevent quality issues and improve manufacturing performance.
- Identify opportunities to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), improve process capability, and strengthen overall plant quality performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and customer focus.
- Travel to the United States as required, approximately 10% of the time.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Location: Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in electrical, electronics, electromechanical, automotive, HVAC, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading Quality functions and developing Quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 / Smart Manufacturing technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, process control, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, DMAIC, and Pareto Analysis.
- Strong customer-focused mindset and experience addressing customer quality requirements and issues.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different functions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to develop and execute quality strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Conversational English.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lead change and drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership.
