About the Role The Quality Manager leads the Quality function for the Dundee site, providing strategic direction and operational oversight to drive quality excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role balances local priorities with global quality expectations and develops capable teams and a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Quality function for the Dundee site, aligning with business objectives and quality standards.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to Quality teams, including supervisors, engineers, auditors, inspectors, and other quality personnel, fostering accountability and development.
- Serve as primary customer contact regarding quality matters, including escalations, investigations, corrective actions, and communicating quality performance.
- Frame quality issues as shared cross-functional problems, not mere compliance mandates.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System to meet regulatory, customer, and corporate requirements.
- Lead internal, external, and customer audits; ensure preparation, execution, follow-up, and closure of findings.
- Drive root-cause analysis, CAPA, and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
- Develop, monitor, and communicate quality metrics and dashboards to support decision-making and improvement.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, and other functions to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, strengthen compliance, and reduce cost of poor quality.
- Participate as a Dundee Site Leadership Team member to influence operational performance and growth.
- Exercise clear decision rights in the quality domain while engaging relevant stakeholders; operate effectively in a matrix structure.
- Manage key transformation initiatives of the quality organization.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of progressive quality experience within regulated manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing quality teams, including leading leaders with direct reports.
- Experience maintaining Quality Management Systems in manufacturing.
- Proven experience leading audits (internal, external, customer) and developing corrective action plans.
- Experience managing supplier quality activities (qualification, audits, performance improvement).
- Strong knowledge of quality methodologies and problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, CAPA, RCA).
- Experience developing and using quality metrics and dashboards.
- Demonstrated success operating within matrix organizations.
- Strong leadership with talent development, accountability, and change management.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Strong analytical thinking, organization, and decision-making.
- Ability to frame quality gaps as mutual opportunities and build collaborative relationships with other functions.
Nice to Have
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and internal audit programs.
- Experience leading customer complaint investigations and warranty-related quality activities.
