Quality Manager

About the Role Kiewit's Senior Quality Manager leads on-site quality activities across Midwest projects, developing and implementing project-specific PQPs and ensuring compliance with contract documents. This role is a key member of the project management team, requiring strong communication, CI/TQM mindset, and ability to manage multiple quality functions in the field. What You'll Do

• Manage the development and implementation of a contract-specific Project Quality Plan (PQP).
• Review and approve subcontractor quality plans to ensure contractual compliance.
• Ensure quality staff are assigned, trained, and have access to quality resources; oversee quality program implementation (issues management, nonconformance reporting, audits, causal analysis, CGD, inspections, procurement oversight, turnover).
• Lead and mentor junior QA/QC personnel.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with Client team, reinforce safety culture, and interpret quality standards/regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate QA audits/assessments of QMS, PQP, subcontractor plans; document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze findings for trends and risks; work with project management to mitigate.
• Promote CI and timely reporting of conditions affecting the project.
• Participate in operation planning and ensure ITPs are developed for all operations.
• Ensure quality documentation for project turnover is complete and stored properly.
• Present at meetings to promote quality goals; conduct routine performance reviews.
• Coordinate and perform additional QA/QC responsibilities as needed and, if applicable, oversee the quality program with senior Quality Manager support. What We're Looking For
• A four-year degree (engineering/science/technical) with minimum 5+ years quality experience in EPC/industrial environments, or an associate degree with minimum 8+ years quality experience, with at least 5 years in an EPC/industrial quality role.
• If no degree, high school/GED with 15+ years related construction/engineering experience, including at least 10 years in a quality position.
• Thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) for construction projects.
• Self-starter with strong organizational, managerial, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and technical skills; ability to manage teams and coordinate with project personnel.
