About the Role Senior-level Quality Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the contract-specific Project Quality Plan (PQP) and all quality-related functions to deliver projects in full compliance with contract documents. The PQM is a member of the project management team and must work with minimal supervision, interact professionally with project teams and client personnel, and drive Continuous Improvement and Total Quality Management on field projects. Location Midwest travel-based role supporting projects; frequent travel and extended field time may be required. What You'll Do
- Manage the development and implementation of a contract-specific PQP; review and approve subcontractor quality plans to ensure contractual compliance.
- Ensure quality staff are adequately assigned, trained, and qualified and that all project staff have access to quality resources.
- Implement and oversee a Quality Assurance Program in construction, including issues management, nonconformance reporting, subcontractor oversight, internal assessments/audits, causal analysis, commercial grade dedication, inspections, procurement oversight, and turnover.
- Lead and mentor junior QA/QC personnel to develop correct behaviors.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with the Client team while reinforcing a construction safety culture.
- Interpret quality standards and regulatory requirements and define implementation strategies.
- Collaborate with district quality management to ensure consistent implementation across the company.
- Coordinate and perform causal analysis investigations and QA audits/assessments on QMS, PQP, subcontractor quality plans, and other processes; document findings and implement effective Corrective Action.
- Analyze findings to identify trends and project risks; work with the PM team to develop mitigation strategies.
- Promote Continuous Improvement and timely reporting of conditions affecting the project.
- Engage in operations planning, ensuring Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) are developed for all operations.
- Ensure quality documentation for project turnover is complete, compliant, and organized.
- Present at meetings to promote quality goals and discuss issues; perform routine performance reviews with QA staff. What We're Looking For
- Four-year degree (engineering, science, or technical) plus minimum five+ years of quality experience in EPC/industrial environments, or an associate degree with minimum eight+ years of quality experience (at least five in EPC/industrial) with relevant roles.
- If no degree, high school diploma/GED with fifteen+ years of related construction/engineering experience and at least ten years in a Quality position.
- Thorough knowledge and experience implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) for construction projects.
- Self-starter with strong organizational, managerial, and leadership skills; able to manage teams/crews and balance priorities.
- Strong verbal and technical communication skills; ability to interact with project teams and clients.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work in field environments.
