Job title: Quality Lab Technician
About the Role Volt is seeking a dedicated Quality Lab Technician to join our Quality Team in Plainfield, IL. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of analytical experience in both laboratory and plant environments, with a strong preference for chemistry or microbiology backgrounds. This role is critical to ensuring our distilled products meet regulatory and company standards.
What You'll Do
- Provide quality leadership during night shift operations.
- Perform microbiological testing on water, ingredients, and distilled products.
- Conduct process audits to ensure compliance with Global Risk Management and North American Standards.
- Inspect raw materials for conformance to product specifications.
- Conduct sensory and analytical testing on in-process and finished products.
- Support non-conforming goods management and documentation.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment including HPLC, spectrophotometer, and alcolyzer.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of experience in a production laboratory supporting on-site production/processing.
- Experience with non-conforming goods management.
- Production experience is required.
- Familiarity with HPLC, spectrophotometer, alcolyzer, and other analytical equipment.
- Understanding of microbiological test methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of lab equipment.
Nice to Have
- Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering.
- 3–5 years of analytical experience in a laboratory and plant environment.
- Experience in the distilled products industry or similar regulated manufacturing environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $23.00 - $25.20 per hour.
