About the Role The Quality Inspector – SMT (3rd shift) performs visual, mechanical, and functional inspection of plastic, sheet metal, and electronic/electromechanical components to ensure conformance to customer specifications and to document quality results. This is an on-site role supporting production on the Sunday–Thursday 11:00pm–7:30am shift across Mack Technologies facilities. What You'll Do
- Complete all data entry in real-time and maintain logs in internal database systems.
- Inspect products for dimensional and cosmetic conformance to customer requirements; provide feedback to engineers.
- Obtain and maintain drawings and procedures from Mack systems; read P.O. and drawing requirements.
- Perform visual inspection of printed circuit board assemblies at various stages using IPC-A-610 standards, visual aides, BOMs, procedures and instructions; identify units for rework.
- Direct products for rework and confirm completion; assemble documentation packages for first articles per P.O. and customer expectations.
- Conduct process audits to internal documentation requirements (AMS, MOI, VIP).
- Ensure proper staging of product and coordination of required processing steps; maintain ESD integrity.
- Use routers in IQS software and verify proper documentation.
- May train other employees and participate in additional training as required.
- Read and interpret P.O. and drawing requirements; follow ISO and job-specific procedures. What We're Looking For
- Associate’s Degree in a related field (electronics-focused preferred) and 2+ years of experience inspecting in high-volume contract-manufacturing environments.
- IPC-A-610 Certification and experience inspecting PCB assemblies.
- Familiarity with 3D AOI (3DAOI) machines.
- Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics and diagrams and read blueprints.
- Experience with an ERP system; strong computer, problem-solving, mathematical, and workstation skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy; strong organizational, written and verbal communication; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; team-oriented.
- ESD training; ISO 9001 experience a plus. Willingness to work flexible hours; must be a US Person as defined in 22 CFR Part 120.15. Nice to Have
- IQS software experience or familiarity with routers.
- ISO 9001 experience is a plus.
