Job title: Quality Inspector, Mechanical
About the Role The Quality Inspector, Mechanical on the Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project, a joint venture of Aecon, United and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario, will be responsible for the performance of all quality functions and duties on SGRT construction activities. The role reports to the Project Quality Supervisor and supports project QA/QC objectives to ensure safe, compliant execution.
What You'll Do
- Participate in the execution of the Inspection and Test Plans
- Perform quality inspection in accordance with the project’s quality program, the related codes and customer specifications. Such inspections shall include but not be limited to: Dimensional inspections; Visual welding inspection; work in assorted respirators (clean shaven as required) and plastics (as required); Radiological environments
- Participate in the execution of the required inspections as outlined in the Construction and Inspection Test Plans
- Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required
- Perform internal weld monitoring as required
- Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections
- Writing and tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action requests
- Support site QC activities associated with the project requirements
What We're Looking For
- Graduate secondary school education in welding technology, QA/QC or a related discipline at the University or College level
- W178 Level 2 Visual Weld inspection required
- Knowledgeable in ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear, CWB experience, and other Technical Standards and Codes associated with the project
- Experienced in MS Office and other Microsoft programs
- Previous experience in receiving inspections and controls within a Nuclear Qualified Program would be considered an asset
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Able to effectively interact with people at all levels
Nice to Have
- Nuclear Qualified Program experience would be an asset
- CWB experience
