About this role
A Quality Inspector at Cepheid is responsible for verifying and validating that products meet specified requirements across all phases of the Quality Assurance Inspection processes. This onsite role is based in New Port Richey, Florida and follows a weekend shift pattern on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. The position reports to the Quality Control Inspection Manager and may involve access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services, with eligibility requirements related to U.S. citizenship or other government authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Perform final dimensional and visual inspections for all value streams as well as Receiving Inspection, ensuring incoming parts have approved documentation and certifications and meet Purchase Order requirements.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings, documentation, and customer requirements; inspect complex, close-tolerance machined parts and sub-assemblies with critical dimensions using conventional inspection equipment such as CMMs, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, optical comparators, height gauges, ring gauges, and pin gauges.
- Participate in Quality Problem Resolution, write nonconformances, and collaborate with the Quality Engineer to implement Corrective Actions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least two (2) years of inspection experience in Aerospace, Military, or Machining Manufacturing within an ISO 9001 / AS9100 environment.
- Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and working with Aerospace Customer Flow Downs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and an ERP system such as SAP; skilled in using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, oscilloscopes, vision systems, and other precision instruments.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible hours to meet deliverables; valid lifting capability of up to 35 lbs; daily lifting and the ability to bend, lift, sit, or stand for extended periods; good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; minimum vision of 20/25 with correction; pass color vision testing (Ishihara) and Jaeger Level 1 eye examinations per PACS-PQ-0029.
