Job title: Quality Engineer
About the Role The Quality Engineer will support the plant Quality Management System (QMS) and drive data-based problem solving across manufacturing processes. This hands-on role ensures ISO compliance, leads corrective actions, supports audits, and analyzes process performance to reduce variation and improve product quality.
What You'll Do
- Support and maintain the site QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 (and applicable 14001/45001 requirements). Maintain and update quality procedures, work instructions, and controlled documents.
- Participate in internal audits; identify gaps and drive corrective action closure. Support external audits (customer, corporate, certification body).
- Lead containment, corrective, and preventive actions for internal and customer nonconformances; verify effectiveness of actions; track and report status of corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain control charts; differentiate common-cause vs special-cause variation; monitor process capability (Cp/Cpk) and drive improvements; analyze quality data (scrap, rework, complaints, batch variability) to identify trends.
- Support APQP activities including Process Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans; assist with PPAP documentation; support Management of Change (MOC).
- Support supplier quality and incoming quality activities, including reviewing COAs and ensuring raw materials meet requirements.
- Support customer claim investigations with data-driven analysis; prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Participate in Lean/WCM initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce variation and simplify quality processes.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Chemistry, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal audit processes.
- Experience with SPC, control charts, and capability analysis.
- Experience leading corrective actions.
- Proficient in Excel; experience with statistical software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
