Job title: Quality Engineer
About the Role The Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality assurance systems and processes to ensure product compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role minimizes defects, improves manufacturing efficiency, and embeds quality into every stage of the packaging production process.
What You'll Do
- Support leadership in the implementation and maintenance of the SES Quality Pillar requirements.
- Identify trends in quality data and collaborate with operations to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase yield.
- Support root cause analysis of complex and systematic internal and external non-quality occurrences, acting as a focal point in guidance and use of quality tools for analysis and problem solving.
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor to observe manufacturing processes, collect data, and perform Root Cause Analysis to eliminate both internal and external quality issues.
- Observe, investigate and study our manufacturing processes and product specification to be able to suggest and implement new ideas to improve quality and reduce manufacturing scraps.
- Assist the development and maintenance of Control Plans and PFMEA, following SES Quality Pillar guidance.
- Manage changes of global valid manufacturing and Process specifications including a traceable review/update of the Quality Product control plans, Standard Operating Conditions, Critical Quality Product Characteristic as well as Critical Quality Process Parameters.
- Support the qualification process of new products, equipment and raw materials regarding validation of quality systems (specifications, product/process controls).
- Ensure that local changes are managed effectively.
- Work with operations to ensure process parameters linked to the product/equipment are defined and documented.
- Develop, implement and manage Statistical Process Control and Statistical Quality Control.
- Define and implement improvement teams/projects to attack defects based on quality related loss deployments.
- Develop, implement and manage the Measurement System Analysis.
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
What We're Looking For
- University degree in Engineering (Chemical, Food Production, Mechanical) or 3-5 years of vocational training.
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- MS Office (Intermediate).
- Basic knowledge of quality and problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and food safety standards (BRC, SQF, FDA) desirable.
