About this role

About the Role Autoliv Queretaro West Quality Engineer will support production processes to uphold a zero-defect philosophy, drive defect prevention, maintain quality systems and documentation, and lead problem analysis and containment actions affecting product quality. You will collaborate with the AMG Leader, Process Quality Supervisor, and Quality Manager to meet customer requirements and respond quickly as part of cross-functional teams to address customer complaints and internal issues. The role provides quality tooling support to multifunctional teams to ensure products meet customer requirements across processes while targeting improvements in scrap, nonconforming events, and related metrics.

What You'll Do

  • Support production processes to maintain zero-defect philosophy and defect prevention, and monitor adherence to quality systems and standards.
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards and protocols for processing materials into subassemblies or finished products.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to establish and sustain quality standards; design and implement inspection, testing mechanisms and equipment; establish controls for each operation.
  • Analyze scrap reports with AMG to reduce scrap for severe, frequent, and costly issues; escalate critical issues and initiate containment when necessary.
  • Participate in line design workshops and ensure preventive controls are applied in new product launches; contribute to Layered Process Audits and other audits.
  • Update and approve documentation and ensure alignment with AS412 Instructions.
  • Monitor test results, adjust inspection frequency, and lead anomaly analysis to determine root cause and implement corrective actions; share lessons learned across areas.
  • Lead quality problem resolution with the multifunctional team using the 8D methodology; coordinate disposition and containment of suspect product when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety management systems; manage environmental aspects and impacts.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years; automotive industry preferred.
  • Languages: English.
  • Functional Competencies: Core Tools – 8D methodology; Customer Specific Requirements; Autoliv Quality Engineer Certification.
