Job title: Quality Control Technician, 2nd Shift
About the Role The Quality Control Technician will be a crucial part of PPG's operations on the 2nd shift in Sylmar, CA, ensuring a quality product is available for customers. You will follow procedures to inspect materials, goods in process, and finished goods, with a focus on identifying defects and recording results.
What You'll Do
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to check, test, and inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods.
- Compare physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Conduct simple tests (for example on electrical function, reliability, packaging quality); record results and prepare simple technical reports.
- Support safety by complying with PPE requirements and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and one to four years of experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis; experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
- Will be required to wear a respirator/PPE.
- U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and certain asylees/refugees are eligible to apply due to ITAR considerations.

- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $29.15 - $30.92 per hour, based on experience and skill.
- Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm (2nd shift).
