About the Role Clariant is seeking a Quality Control Officer at its Shizuoka Plant to perform quality control testing across raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, contributing to customer satisfaction and stable operations. The role also involves root cause analysis of quality issues, preventive actions, and ensuring compliance with management systems.
What You'll Do
- Conduct quality tests and analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Analyze quality data and drive quality improvement activities.
- Maintain and manage analytical instruments.
- Investigate quality problems and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, cGMP, RSPO.
- Handle customer samples and perform analyses/assessments.
- Respond to customer complaints and quality inquiries.
- Provide support for cross-functional teams to ensure safe and sustainable production.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or above with a chemistry background
- Experience in quality control or manufacturing in a chemical company (roughly 1+ years)
- Basic knowledge of chemical analytical instruments and testing equipment
- PC skills (Microsoft Office)
- Proficiency in Japanese for smooth communication; ability to read/write in English
- Preferred: university or technical college background in chemistry, materials science, etc.; knowledge/experience with ISO9001, ISO14001, cGMP, RSPO; experience with customer/complaint handling; English communication ability
Nice to Have
- Experience analyzing root causes and improving quality issues

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary determined by experience and skills per company policy; annual bonuses (2x base) and a global performance bonus once per year
- Shift work: early, late, night with 7.5 hours work per shift and break of 1h10m; night allowance
