Quality Control Inspector

About the Role Volt is immediately hiring for a Quality Control Inspector in Lake Forest, CA. This is a full-time contract opportunity. You will perform detailed inspections on electronic and mechanical assemblies, review work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to verify product requirements and tolerances, and ensure conformance to IPC, JSTD, ISO 9001, and internal quality standards. What You'll Do

• Perform detailed inspections on electronic and mechanical assemblies, including PCBs, metal and plastic parts, and box-build enclosures
• Review work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to verify product requirements and tolerances
• Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections on printed circuit board assemblies and mechanical components
• Identify defects related to soldering, assembly, fit, finish, and workmanship using visual and measurement techniques
• Measure and verify critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and optical tools
• Use magnification tools, microscopes, magnifiers, multimeters, and oscilloscopes for detailed inspections
• Ensure compliance with IPC, JSTD, ISO 9001, and internal quality standards
• Support 100% inspection activities throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment What We're Looking For
• 3–5 years of Quality Control experience in PCB Assembly manufacturing
• Experience in electronics, aerospace, or semiconductor manufacturing
• Strong background using microscopes, magnifiers, calipers, and electronic test equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, checklists, and BOMs
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD-001 standards
• Experience performing First Article, in-process, and final inspections
• Availability for 1st Shift – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Nice to Have
• Certified J-STD-001
• Experience in inspecting mechanical components such as metal parts, plastics, and enclosures
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
• Background in box build or electro-mechanical assemblies Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
