About the Role Quality Control Inspector-I will report to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor on the OQC team at Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, and is based on-site in West Los Angeles. The role focuses on performing thorough inspections of incoming electronic and mechanical parts, ensuring proper procedures are followed throughout manufacturing and testing, and maintaining accurate documentation. The Inspector will investigate quality issues and collaborate with engineering and suppliers to recommend improvements to products and processes. The on-site role is located at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in West LA, with a Monday–Friday schedule. What You'll Do
- Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, parts, components, and fit checks as necessary.
- Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
- Prepare in-process inspection reports with completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain Quality documentation.
- Identify the serviceability of parts and appropriate tooling.
- Perform other related duties as needed. What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Ability to follow written instructions and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Good verbal and written communication; ability to work independently and in a team
- U.S. Person required due to federal contracts (citizenship or permanent residency)
- Background check and drug test required Nice to Have
- IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or previously held)
- Familiarity with electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with inspection tools (calipers, microscopes, multimeters, magnification devices)
- Ability to identify workmanship defects, cosmetic issues, and nonconforming conditions in electronic assemblies
- Interest or passion for electronics, aerospace, defense, or related technical industries
- Ability to learn technical processes quickly; strong organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional production and quality teams
- Basic understanding of ESD awareness and handling practices
