Role Summary

The Quality Assurance Officer is the primary field operations representative at an assigned market, responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and compliance of customer orders from placement through vendor preparation and dispatch. The role requires strong attention to detail, practical market knowledge, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of orders processed within the assigned market.

• Verify goods against customer order specifications, including item, quantity, quality, freshness, size, grade, and other applicable requirements, before dispatch.

• Inspect products for freshness, spoilage, damage, contamination, or other quality concerns and escalate issues promptly.

• Coordinate with vendors to resolve order discrepancies, substitutions, quality concerns, and fulfilment issues.

• Ensure vendors comply with required product and order-quality standards.

• Support vendor onboarding, verification, and market activation activities within the assigned location.

• Support consumer acquisition and sign-up activities in line with assigned targets.

• Capture relevant field data, order information, evidence, and quality observations using a smartphone or designated digital tools.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, rejected items, replacements, vendor issues, and other field activities.

• Submit accurate daily activity and operational reports to the City Team Lead.

• Identify recurring quality or fulfilment problems and recommend practical corrective actions.

• Represent the company professionally when engaging vendors, consumers, market operators, and other stakeholders.

• Perform other field operations duties reasonably assigned by the City Team Lead.

• Performance Targets

• The Quality Assurance Officer will be expected to contribute to:

• Consumer sign-ups: 10 daily / 50 weekly / 200 monthly.

• High order accuracy and adherence to specified quality standards.

• Timely identification and resolution of quality issues.

• Accurate and consistent field reporting.

• Effective vendor engagement and onboarding support.

• Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum HND in Food Science, Agribusiness, Nutrition, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

• 1–2 years' experience in quality assurance, food quality, market operations, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.

• Strong fresh graduates with demonstrable practical market or field exposure may be considered.

• Required Skills & Competencies

• Practical knowledge of food freshness, spoilage, grading, and product quality assessment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies quickly.

• Smartphone proficiency for data capture, photography, documentation, and reporting.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong integrity, reliability, and accountability.

• Ability to work independently in a busy market environment.

• Physical stamina and readiness for active, on-the-ground field work.

• Fluency in the relevant local market language is strongly preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Key Success Measures:

• Success in this role will be measured by the officer's ability to maintain order accuracy, product quality, vendor compliance, timely issue resolution, reporting discipline, and consumer acquisition performance within the assigned market.
