About this role
Quality Assurance Engineer (SDV Diagnosis)
About the Team & Mission Quality Assurance Engineer (Diagnosis) ensures the diagnostic quality of SDV architecture based vehicle software by validating controller and integrated diagnostic functions. In a CAN/CAN FD Ethernet diagnostic environment based on UDS, it verifies major diagnostic services such as Diagnostic Session, DTC, ECU Reset, Routine Control and various vehicle states, analyzes diagnostic communications and log data to structure problem causes, builds test automation and CI/CD based continuous validation framework, standardizes diagnostic validation criteria and quality metrics to continuously elevate SDV diagnostic quality from development to mass production, playing a core role.
Responsibilities
- Validation planning
- Establish validation plans for vehicle diagnostics functions and integrated diagnostics based on SDV architecture and controller operation.
- Define test scope and quality objectives considering the interaction structure among controllers, vehicle networks, and diagnostic clients.
- Validation design
- Design test cases for key diagnostic functions such as UDS-based diagnostic services, Diagnostic Session, DTC, ECU Reset, Routine Control.
- Design scenario-based validation environments and conditions considering normal/abnormal communication, power and network state changes, timeouts, session transitions, and various vehicle states.
- Validation execution
- Perform validation of diagnostic functionality for coherence, stability, and performance aligned with major software releases and quality gates.
- Validate diagnostic communications and controller response behavior in CAN/CAN FD and Ethernet vehicle network environments.
- Validate diagnostic functions and system state behavior on HIL/SIL test benches and in-vehicle environments.
- Validation automation
- Develop or apply diagnostic test automation tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy of repetitive validations.
- Use programming languages to build automation for executing diagnostic scenarios, result judgment, log collection, and report generation.
- Build test pipelines and execution framework in CI/CD environments to ensure ongoing diagnostic validation.
- Result analysis
- Analyze diagnostic communications logs, ECU logs, network traces, and test results to structure causes of abnormal behavior.
- Systematically document validation results and key quality metrics, and set up dashboards and reporting as needed.
- Process establishment and improvement
- Define and standardize SDV-appropriate diagnostic validation criteria, test procedures, and quality metrics.
- Analyze diagnostic-related issues arising during controller development and integration, driving validation process improvements.
- Collaborate with development, systems engineering, and vehicle evaluation teams to improve End-to-End quality from requirements to pre-production validation.
