GreenShield is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Tester - Hybrid in Toronto, Canada. The role reports to the Supervisor, IT Quality Assurance - Technical Testing. This position focuses on automated testing activities for large and complex software applications. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of QA methodologies and test automation, with the ability to translate testing scope into tangible test scripts, solve problems, and remove obstacles that hinder testing progress. The role requires exceptional technical, analytical, and communication skills and hands-on experience with quality assurance practices and automation. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, with a training period of 60 calendar days and a salary range of CAD 29.71 to 31.76 per hour.
Responsibilities

Create automated test scripts based on test cases, pre-conditions and data setup requirements.

Update and maintain object libraries and automation framework components.

Maintain automated test scripts for various applications.

Debug and deliver fully functional automated test scripts.

Mentor and support QA testers in executing automated test scripts.

Create test cases based on detailed requirements documentation for all types of testing methods.

Provide input in the creation of test plans based on detailed requirements documentation for all types of testing methods.

Execute test cases using both manual and automated testing tools.

Create and maintain test scripts for data setup and manipulation.

Document defects related to testing completed.

Participate in defect triage meetings and root cause defect analysis.

Attend and participate in project meetings.

Ensure established testing processes are followed and testing documentation is complete and accurate.

Provide time estimates for testing assignments and track/report testing process metrics.

Participate in requirement review sessions and provide relevant feedback.

Provide inputs to the Automation test strategy for each project to the supervisor/manager.

Contribute to the improvement and advancement of automation QA practices.

Ensure testing aligns with the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle (DLC).

Work within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and use test case and bug tracking tools (e.g., TFS or equivalent).

Requirements
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience testing various software applications using multiple testing and project management methodologies (Waterfall or Agile).
- Minimum 3 years of experience creating, modifying, and updating automated test scripts, or successful completion of an approved Automation Tool course.
- Advanced knowledge of automated testing tools such as UFT/Selenium, or successful completion of an approved automation tool course.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as VBScript, C#, and SQL, or successful completion of an approved scripting course.
- Fundamental knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript, or successful completion of an approved course.
- Advanced knowledge of automated testing configuration, build, and release management, or successful completion of an approved automation tool course.
- Experience with STLC and DLC.
- Demonstrated experience developing and running SQL queries at a basic level.
- Working knowledge of SDLC.
- Working knowledge of test case and bug tracking tools (e.g., TFS or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills, strong written and oral communication, and strong analytical abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
