QUALITY ASSURANCE AUTOMATION TESTER

GreenShield is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Tester to join our team in Windsor, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario. This role reports directly to the Supervisor, IT Quality Assurance - Technical Testing and focuses on automated testing activities for large and complex software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, with solid knowledge of QA procedures and test automation. The role requires the ability to translate testing scope into tangible test scripts, solve problems that impede testing progress, and mentor other QA testers in executing automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Create automated test scripts based on test cases, pre-conditions, and data setup requirements
• Update and maintain object libraries and automation framework components
• Maintain automated test scripts for various applications and ensure they are fully functional
• Debug and deliver fully functional automated test scripts
• Mentor and support QA testers in executing automated test scripts
• Create test cases based on detailed requirements documentation for all testing methods
• Provide input in the creation of test plans based on detailed requirements documentation for all testing methods
• Execute test cases using both manual and automated testing tools
• Create and maintain test scripts for data setup and manipulation
• Document defects related to testing completed and participate in defect triage meetings
• Participate in root cause defect analysis and project meetings
• Ensure established testing processes are followed and testing documentation is accurate and complete
• Provide time estimates for testing assignments and track/report testing process metrics
• Participate in requirement review sessions and provide relevant feedback
• Contribute inputs to the Automation test strategy for each project to the supervisor/manager
• Contribute to the improvement and advancement of Automation QA practices

Requirements

• University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of experience testing various software applications using multiple testing and project management methodologies (Waterfall or Agile)
• Minimum 3 years of experience creating, modifying, and updating automated test scripts, or successful completion of an approved Automation Tool course
• Advanced knowledge of automated testing tools such as UFT/Selenium, or successful completion of an approved automation tool course
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as VBScript/C#, and SQL scripts, or completion of an approved scripting course
• Fundamental knowledge of programming/scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript, or completion of an approved course
• Advanced knowledge of automated testing configuration, build and release management (or completion of an approved automation tool course)
• Experience with Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle (DLC)
• Experience developing and running SQL queries at a basic level
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and test case/bug tracking tools such as TFS or equivalent
• Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills, strong written and oral communication, and strong analytical abilities
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team, with strong organization and attention to detail to meet tight deadlines
• The training period for this position is 60 calendar days
• Proficiency in English is required for effective communication with colleagues and customers
