About this role
Job title: QSR Country Manager – Angola
About the Role Lead Hungry Lion's Angola growth, owning commercial and operational performance and driving the footprint from this phase onward. You’ll run the country day-to-day with backing from the South Africa support team in a market that requires local knowledge and operational rigor.
What You'll Do
- Growth & expansion: Identifying and securing new store sites alongside the SA Development team; growing the Angolan footprint with pace and discipline; driving new store openings from planning to launch, including regulatory approvals and local permits; ensuring brand execution is culturally relevant and aligned with Hungry Lion standards.
- Operations & supply chain: Full P&L ownership across all in-country stores; manage margins and profitability; oversee supplier contracts and cold chain logistics; maintain food safety, hygiene, and QSR standards across every store.
- People & stakeholders: Lead and develop local team; build next layer of leadership; represent Hungry Lion with authorities, landlords, and regulatory bodies; collaborate with SA hub on finance, marketing, and operations.
What We're Looking For
- 8-10 years of F&B or QSR management experience with a track record of scaling operations in Angola or comparable markets.
- Deep knowledge of the Angolan market—local legislation, commercial networks, and cultural context; Angolan citizenship strongly preferred.
- Fluent in Portuguese and highly proficient in English; able to collaborate with SA team.
- Proven P&L ownership at a multi-site level; comfortable making decisions independently and operating without close day-to-day oversight.
Nice to Have
- Prior operating experience in Angola and established regulatory networks; ability to navigate local authorities and permits; strong local networks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full commercial ownership of an established and growing market with backing from a fast-expanding African QSR brand.
- Autonomy to improve operations, not just maintain them; a role that scales directly with the Angolan footprint.
