QHSE Manager

About the Role We are seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of the business’ QHSE programs. You will develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, conduct risk assessments, audits and investigations, and promote a culture of safety and quality across the business. What You'll Do

• Maintain records/registers of injuries and illnesses and medical treatment at base & field locations with the base Medic
• Present safety induction training for all personnel on board and instruct inductees on hazards relevant to their positions
• Conduct regular hygiene inspections on SDI office, base and field locations
• Maintain emergency medical equipment in preparedness state and maintain an accurate inventory
• Participate in and contribute to the objectives described in the MODU’s annual plan
• Provide safety training to employees and assist Operations & Base Manager with hazard identification, accident prevention and recognition
• Advise Operations & Base Manager on safety administration and safety inspections
• Maintain an accurate inventory of safety and lifesaving equipment and instruct personnel on its use
• Ensure Lifesaving Appliances (fire extinguishers, lifeboat inventories, etc.) are maintained per the maintenance program
• Assist in the implementation of safety policies and procedures per local, state, federal, maritime and company regulations; monitor effectiveness
• Order and obtain training materials and maintain a record of all training activities
• Undertake audits and inspections per company procedures
• Custodian of national/international regulatory and compliance protocols, certifications and registrations
• Maintain up-to-date HSE and Quality Management system
• Coordinate and manage emergency preparedness
• Participate in and monitor all safety initiatives, programs and meetings (weekly, pretour, pre-job/toolbox)
• Monitor personnel and equipment for compliance with statutory requirements and company policies
• Participate in discipline and counselling procedures related to safety issues
• Prepare and send reports to Line Manager on safety program implementation
• Maintain accurate personnel and training records
• Implement hazard communication program
• Oversee activities and duties of all Mechanics on base and field locations
• Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in related Discipline
• NEBOSH Certificate, Instructors’ qualifications or First-Aid/CPR
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in the oil and gas industry – with at least 5 years on land, swamp, base and field locations
• Knowledge of hazardous waste policies and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of QHSE principles and laws
• Knowledge and understanding of the impact of failure of QHSE key systems and processes
• Problem solving and time management
• Coaching and supervisory skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Leadership skill
