About the Role Pearson is recruiting Writers to support the development of content and assessments for BTEC International Level 3 Qualifications in Music and Music Production. The role involves creating and reviewing units and assessment materials under guidance, with opportunities to contribute to editing and writing activities. Successful candidates will provide input on units and materials and stay current with sector standards.
What You'll Do
- Write the required materials assigned according to given briefs
- Respond positively to feedback and provide content in the required format for submission
- Make amendments following feedback
- Support the writing/editing/reviewing of materials when invited
- Provide up-to-date sector-specific expertise for material production and keep up to date with changes in the sector
- Have detailed knowledge of the requirements/standards for the role
- Meet deadlines and report back to Pearson within agreed timeframes
- Ensure parity of standards and adhere to Pearson guidance
- Work effectively with colleagues and participate in required training
What We're Looking For
- Essential: Current sector experience/applied subject knowledge (minimum 2 years)
- Essential: Excellent communication, written, verbal, IT and interpersonal skills
- Essential: Ability to meet deadlines
- Essential: Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in subject specialism
Nice to Have
- Experience with the BTEC or Vocational qualifications for the relevant subject area
- Understanding of the educational landscape and regulatory requirements for qualifications
- Basic understanding of the assessment processes for vocational qualifications
- Innovative writers with fresh ideas that motivate learners
- Experience in writing: student materials, teacher/school materials, specifications, assessments or tests, or published materials
- Experience providing feedback in a professional context
