About the Role Canonical is hiring a Python Software Engineer to join the Integrations team within the Commercial Systems unit. The role focuses on building and maintaining Python-based software that automates SAAS user management and integrates with various systems, contributing to Canonical's open source platform and services.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Python software within the Integrations team to automate SAAS user management and related integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, business) to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to engineering quality improvements and continuously develop skills, applying them in work.
- Work in Canonical's distributed team with occasional in-person alignment sessions.
- Explore and implement integrations with popular software systems and open source technologies.
What We're Looking For
- Strong Python software engineering experience with a track record of delivering high-quality code.
- Experience with building or maintaining automation/integration software, preferably for SAAS users.
- Ability to work in a distributed, collaborative environment across multiple countries.
- Familiarity with open source software and community contributions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms, SaaS, container orchestration (Kubernetes), CI/CD.
- Experience working on Ubuntu or Canonical technologies is a plus.
