About the Role Canonical seeks a Python Engineer for Data Center Hardware Integration to manage and operate our Taipei lab onsite. This role combines Python software engineering with hands-on hardware work in a lab environment, focusing on open source software, Linux, and latest server and network technologies. If you enjoy hacking in your home lab and are curious about hardware, you will fit right in.
What You'll Do
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Taipei lab on-site.
- Work with hardware, server, and networking teams to integrate data center hardware with Canonical's software stack.
- Maintain and improve lab environments, automation, and tooling for testing and validation.
- Contribute to open source projects and pilot new hardware and server technologies.
- Ensure documentation, safety, and compliance in lab operations.
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in Python and Linux; passion for open source.
- Experience with server hardware, data center networking, and related technologies.
- On-site availability in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and lab-operations skills.
- Interest in Ubuntu and cloud/AI infrastructure is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Enthusiasm for hands-on hardware tinkering and hardware lab experiments in a home lab.
