We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support inventory planning and supplier coordination in Columbus, Ohio. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with replenishment cycles, reporting tools, and cross-functional communication. The person in this role will help maintain accurate inventory information, partner with vendors and internal sales teams, and contribute to ongoing data quality improvements.

• Monitor stock levels and support purchasing activities to keep inventory aligned with business demand.

• Manage replenishment timing and quantities by reviewing inventory cycles and identifying restocking needs.

• Prepare, organize, and analyze Excel-based reports to track purchasing and inventory performance.

• Communicate with suppliers and internal sales representatives to resolve order issues, clarify needs, and maintain smooth operations.

• Investigate discrepancies related to inventory, purchasing records, or product availability and take corrective action.

• Assist with data cleanup efforts to improve the accuracy and consistency of purchasing and inventory information.

• Support physical inventory-related activities and help maintain reliable stock records across warehouse operations.

• Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to address purchasing and supply chain challenges as they arise.

• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, supply chain support, or a related operational role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to run and interpret reports.

• Working knowledge of inventory tracking, replenishment processes, and inventory cycle management.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers and internal teams.

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a focus on accuracy and timely resolution of issues.

• Warehouse experience or familiarity with physical inventory procedures is preferred.

• Experience with Profit 21 is a plus.
