About the Role Medline is seeking a Purchasing Manager I GSO to lead cross-functional efforts in project management, vendor management, and collaborative product development, with a focus on cost competitiveness and timely delivery. This role works with product managers, engineering, and suppliers to bring new products to market or redesign existing ones in a hybrid Shanghai-based setting.
What You'll Do
- Manage cross-functional projects partnering with product management, engineering, and vendors to develop and launch new products or redesign for cost competitiveness.
- Lead projects, influence multiple functions, and ensure on-time delivery and achievement of targets.
- Identify quality risks and opportunities to improve product cost, production efficiency, and sourcing strategies (re-engineering, material changes, etc.).
- Apply process and resource knowledge to streamline tasks, minimize rework, and maximize efficiency.
- Prioritize work during fast-paced periods and identify critical tasks.
- Maintain effective vendor relationships, monitor contract compliance, and lead supplier scorecard processes.
- Proactively identify high-potential vendors and develop sourcing risk mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with teams and act as a facilitator and solution provider across functions.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Experience: Procurement experience in a healthcare company or regional sourcing center is a plus; experience in new product development and new supplier development.
- Knowledge/Skills: English language proficiency.
- Other: Ability to work in a hybrid Shanghai-based role.
