About the Role The Purchasing Lead at Matec Instrument Companies (Division Metals) within Precision Castparts will negotiate pricing and terms with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Matec. This role coordinates with multiple departments to ensure adequate inventory to meet business needs while maintaining controls to reduce excess stock and waste.
What You'll Do
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms.
- Negotiate with vendors for most favorable pricing for goods and services while maintaining the highest quality.
- Monitor purchase orders for accuracy and ensure materials are received on time and distributed to the proper department on the manufacturing floor.
- Establish purchasing and inventory policies and ensure compliance; create and standardize processes and procedures for inventory.
