Job title: Purchasing / Commodity Manager
About the Role Brose seeks a Purchasing / Commodity Manager to manage assigned commodities and suppliers, lead NAFTA region supplier selection, and drive cost optimization across the product lifecycle. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure favorable cost and quality quotations, support engineering changes, and implement economical improvements.
What You'll Do
- Manage assigned commodities and suppliers including annual price negotiations.
- Develop component and supplier sourcing strategies for the assigned product group.
- Provide cost- and quality-wise favorable quotations for required materials out of the NAFTA market.
- Lead supplier selection for the NAFTA region.
- Perform cost and value analyses in cooperation with other departments, centers and product teams.
- Drive cost reductions for new purchased parts and sub-assemblies via early supplier involvement and collaboration with the Customer Team Buyers.
- Support production with coordination of technical changes of purchased parts and implementation of economical improvements.
- Initiate and record cost avoidances during launch timeframe.
- Issue RFQs prior to SOP as well as engineering changes during current production.
- Support the Customer Team Buyer(s) in the target setting process (defining the target prices as well as commodity implications).
What We're Looking For
- Industrial or Mechanical Engineer preferred.
- Purchasing experience 5-7 years on direct production material for Automotive industry (Tier or OEM) for mechanical parts (molding, stamping, forming, welding). Experience in stamping processes mandatory.
- Experience with SAP.
- Understanding cost breakdowns; analytical, communicative and well spoken.
- Fluent English is mandatory.
