About the Role ExxonMobil is seeking a Pultrusion Applications Engineer to provide on-site technical support for customers using injection-die pultrusion and to lead application development for Proxxima polyolefin thermoset systems. The role involves running pultrusion equipment, optimizing processes, and collaborating with commercial teams across North America and internationally, with travel as needed. The position is based at the Baytown Technology and Engineering Complex in Baytown, TX.
What You'll Do
- Provide on-site technical support for customers producing fiber reinforced composites using injection-die pultrusion.
- Assist customers in optimizing or troubleshooting their process to run Proxxima resins and advise on equipment upgrades.
- Lead application development projects using pultrusion equipment at Baytown facilities; personally operate equipment to produce samples.
- Provide technical and market insights to guide new applications and inform business strategy.
- Develop novel technology to strengthen IP portfolio; author technical reports and publications; co-author promotional materials.
- Train and mentor less experienced colleagues.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience operating or supervising manufacturing of thermoset parts using pultrusion including injection die processing.
- B.S. or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
- Hands-on and able to set up and operate pultrusion lines without technician support.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
- Proficient in use of computers with excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Good team player and self-motivated.
