About the Role The Publishing Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Press Director and provides vital support across marketing, editorial, metadata, and administrative functions to sustain the University of Delaware Press's publishing program. The role also supports expanding open access and digital publishing, and collaborates on the Delaware History and Culture series. What You'll Do
- Marketing: assist in crafting and executing the Press's annual marketing strategy; manage calendars; execute web and social media promotions; meet deadlines for advertisements, award applications, and conference materials and displays; identify and pursue additional marketing opportunities; travel to academic and professional conferences as needed.
- Editorial/Metadata/Administrative: support editorial workflows, metadata management, and other administrative tasks essential to press operations.
- Open Access & Digital Publishing: provide vital support for expanding open access and digital publishing initiatives.
- Series Support: assist with regionally focused series such as Delaware History and Culture. What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting marketing, editorial, metadata, and administrative work in publishing or library settings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple calendars and deadlines.
- Interest or experience with open access and digital publishing; ability to collaborate with partners.
- Willingness to travel to academic and professional conferences as needed. Nice to Have
- Experience with university presses or regional/special series.
- Familiarity with metadata standards and digital publishing platforms.
