Job title: Public Sector Account Executive
About the Role
As a Public Sector Account Executive, you will be responsible for deeply understanding government customers and how they leverage Atlassian's suite of products. You will nurture and grow existing relationships, build new ones, and drive strategic account planning, client management, and demonstrated value creation. You will also serve as the customer account lead, orchestrating cross-functional teams to support our customers’ Atlassian journey, and act as a critical liaison between executives in product and engineering and customers to shape roadmap and improve the customer experience.
What You'll Do

Develop strategic account plans and manage key public sector customers, including government agencies and higher education institutions, to maximize value from Atlassian products.

Nurture and grow existing relationships while proactively building new ones, with a consultative, relationship-oriented approach.

Set direction and orchestrate cross-functional teams to support customers on their Atlassian journey.

Drive the execution of strategic goals through account planning, client management, and clear demonstration of value creation.

Serve as the customer account lead and critical liaison between executives in product/engineering and customers to influence roadmap and improve customer experience.

Apply your enterprise sales experience to Atlassian’s sales model and advocate for the public sector business.

Leverage CRM, pipeline management, and analytics tools to manage performance and outcomes.

Work cross-departmentally, take initiative, and continuously challenge processes to improve results.

What We're Looking For

8+ years of software sales experience.
-
5+ years selling into the SLG (State and Local Government) market.

Strong relationships with Government Agencies, Higher
Education
-
Institutions, Solutions Partners, and Resellers.

Deep knowledge of Government contracts and procurement vehicles.

Experience achieving success in customer-first SaaS organizations.

Proficiency with CRM, pipeline management, and analytics tools.

A consultative, relationship-oriented approach with enterprise customers.

Willingness to challenge the traditional Sales Model and improve sales processes.

Demonstrated ability to work cross-departmentally, take initiative, and advocate for the public sector business.

Nice to Have

Experience selling into SLG accounts, preferably in the West.

Experience transitioning customers from on-premise deployments to cloud-first.

Entrepreneurial spirit with experience navigating a cross-departmental matrix organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay ranges in the United States include Zone A: USD 180,900 - 236,175; Zone B: USD 162,800 - 212,558; Zone C: USD 150,100 - 196,025.
