About the Role The Software Application Specialist will manage the deployment of Motorola’s public safety and command center software suite within complex software ecosystems for public safety agencies. The role combines technical delivery with project management to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. What You'll Do
- Information Gathering and Discovery: Lead operational assessments, business process reviews, and other discovery events to understand customer processes; interview subject matter experts and document findings.
- Analytical Evaluation and Recommendations: Evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement; provide tailored configuration and application recommendations.
- Business Process Reengineering: Facilitate workflow analyses, lead workshops, and develop new processes aligned with objectives.
- Training Development and Orientation: Design, develop, and deliver training curricula and materials; guide customers through training sessions.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Facilitation: Define and lead UAT, document results against Functional Requirements Matrix, and measure outcomes.
- Internal Liaison and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between technical resources, engineers, and project managers; adapt COTS software to client use cases.
- Project Management Support: Partner with PMs and Program Directors to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present analysis results and project updates to stakeholders with clear, informative presentations. What We're Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience in one of the following: Public Safety, Business Analysis, Field Service, CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch), Records Management Systems, and Jail Applications.
- Self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
- Education: High School diploma, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management, or 3 years of experience in a Public Safety Information Technology environment.
- Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by government customers.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
- Travel 10-25%. Nice to Have
- 3+ years’ experience in Public Safety, Business Analysis, Field Service, CAD, RMS, and Jail Applications.
- Experience delivering training or facilitating workshops.
- Familiarity with highly configurable Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software. Compensation & Benefits
- Target Base Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 USD annually.
