Job title: Public Safety Officer (part-time)
About the Role Mississippi College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Safety Officer (part-time) at the Clinton Campus. This is a non-sworn role within the Office of Public Safety and reports to the Shift Supervisor who reports to the Director/Assistant Director of Public Safety.
What You'll Do
- Perform on-foot patrols and campus safety duties on the Clinton Campus as assigned.
- Provide security and safety services while working evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to document incidents and coordinate with campus community.
- Adhere to Mississippi College’s mission, vision, and values; support the Office of Public Safety.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma required; degree or college credit desirable but not required.
- Previous law enforcement or first responder experience desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform duties of the position; willingness to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.
- Able to function on foot patrol and to work outdoors in inclement weather for extended periods of time.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Submit to and successfully complete a background investigation.
