Job title: Public Safety Officer (part-time) - Law School Campus
About the Role Mississippi College seeks a part-time Public Safety Officer for the School of Law campus in Jackson, MS. This non-sworn role reports to the Director or Assistant Director of Public Safety and supports campus safety operations. The position requires outdoor, foot patrol work and flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
What You'll Do
- Function on foot patrol and work outdoors in inclement weather for extended periods of time on the School of Law campus.
- Support campus safety operations and report to the Director or Assistant Director of Public Safety.
- Be available to work evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma required; degree or college credit desirable but not required.
- Previous law enforcement or first responder experience desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the specific duties of the position.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background investigation.
- Willingness to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Nice to Have
- Degree or college credit desirable but not required.
