About the Role The Public Safety Officer at Highland Park Hospital provides security services to staff and visitors with professionalism, fairness, and compassion, supporting a safe, secure environment in alignment with Endeavor Health policies and training.
What You'll Do
- Inspire confidence with a professional, approachable demeanor and service-focused mindset.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to determine the best course of action for patient, visitor, and staff safety.
- Maintain alertness, ethics, and compliance with safety and security rules; patrol interior and exterior areas; identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions; conduct Interim Life Safety Measures audits; protect patient valuables.
- Document work using computer applications (Word, Excel, web navigation, database entry) and communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
- Meet and maintain department training standards in radio communications, verbal de-escalation, stabilization, CPR, and clinical restraints when applicable.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 3-5 years in security, public safety, law enforcement, military, or customer service with incident response and risk identification responsibilities is preferred.
- Certification: Valid IL Driver’s License required; PERC Card within 9 months of employment; FOID card preferred or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Valid state requirements and the ability to work varied shifts (day, evening, night) as a Per Diem resource.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $18.84 - $27.32 USD; pay determined by expertise and experience.
