About this role

About the Role The PT Instructor for the Risk Management Institute (RMI) program will develop course content, set up classroom space as needed, and deliver training to working professionals, primarily in the energy sector. Courses range from CPR and First Aid to H2S, SafeLandUSA (Veriforce/PEC), IADC Basin United, IADC RigPass, DOT Recordkeeping & Compliance, OSHA-30, and other OSHA classes, typically 4–40 hours each and scheduled around instructor availability. What You'll Do

  • Maintain required certifications and develop proficiency with American Heart Association, IADC, OSHA, and Veriforce safety training programs.
  • Prepare classrooms for classes, facilitate instruction, and evaluate student performance.
  • Maintain programmatic records for Midland College and accreditation/approval agencies and submit documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the instruction of RMI courses and assist with prerequisite requirements, logistics, and supplies.
  • Promote classes, contact potential students/companies for classes with low enrollment, and work with PPDC staff to meet program goals and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure safety by demonstrating proper use of equipment and hazardous materials and adhering to health and safety procedures; travel to auxiliary teaching sites as needed.
  • Foster a positive learning environment and support student success; collaborate with PPDC staff on outcomes. What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum one-year experience in risk management/safety training.
  • Current certifications or able to obtain: CPR & First Aid; IADC Basin United; IADC RigPass; SafeLandUSA; OSHA-30.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, and ability to operate training equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong computer literacy.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and travel to auxiliary sites; reliable transportation; self-motivated with minimal supervision. Nice to Have
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • College or dual credit teaching experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations. Compensation & Benefits
  • $50.00 - $75.00 per hour; pay commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Part-time, onsite position at the Midland College PPDC location. Benefits details per policy apply as per college guidelines where applicable.
