PT Center Store Associate

Food Lion is seeking a part-time Center Store Associate in Stanley, VA to deliver quality customer service within the Center Store (grocery) department. The role emphasizes friendly, accurate service, adherence to company guidelines and safety standards, and contributing to sales while minimizing shrink. You will work to maintain shelves, assist customers and fellow associates, and uphold Food Lion policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates
• Clean shelves and shelf tag moldings with a damp cloth as needed when stocking
• Maintain shelf allocations by stocking from tag to tag
• Ensure only saleable merchandise is placed on shelves
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise follow policies and guidelines
• Understand and use company tools such as average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures; observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Report all accidents to the Manager on Duty according to established procedures
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge, maintain a neat appearance in line with the dress code
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills

• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job

• Ability to use technical information to solve problems

• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

• Physical abilities include: repetitive hand and arm motions, bending and lifting up to 15 lbs continuously, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs on occasion; pulling or pushing up to 75 lbs on occasion; pushing or pulling up to 2000 lbs using a pallet jack; standing 100% of the time with frequent short walks; handling currency and operating cash register equipment; frequent reaching and grasping; tolerance for extreme temperatures for short periods; sufficient visual ability to check documents
