Advanced Recovery Systems (ARS) is seeking a Psychiatrist Medical Director to join our physician-led behavioral healthcare team in Stockbridge, Georgia.

This is an opportunity for a psychiatrist who wants to combine direct patient care with clinical leadership while working with adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

As Medical Director, you will provide psychiatric care while providing clinical leadership and oversight of medical services at the facility.

Location: Stockbridge, GA Position: Psychiatrist Medical Director Schedule: Primarily onsite, Monday–Friday, with some weekend/holiday coverage and on-call responsibilities Employment: Full-Time

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management.

• Treat patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

• Provide evidence-based psychiatric treatment within an addiction-focused setting.

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the medical team.

• Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and facility leadership to ensure coordinated patient care.

• Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary case review.

• Support quality, safety, regulatory, and clinical standards.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to medical providers and staff.

• Participate in addiction treatment and medication-assisted treatment when clinically appropriate.

• Provide some on-call coverage as needed.

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

• Active Georgia medical license.

• Board Certified in Psychiatry.

• DEA registration.

• Experience treating patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

• Addiction Medicine experience preferred.

• Buprenorphine training/experience preferred.

• Previous clinical leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong interest in evidence-based addiction and behavioral healthcare.

• Compensation Details

• BENEFITS: Scheduling flexible, required to be onsite & some on-call

• Pay: Competitive & negotiable salary starting at $350k + annual bonus and monthly incentives

• CME: $5,000 per year reimbursement
