About the Role Canonical is hiring a Project Manager for its Devices business to coordinate and deliver large complex customer-facing projects, serving as the primary liaison between Canonical's engineering teams and customers. You will manage projects involving the delivery of Ubuntu images on devices ranging from robots, edge gateways, and IoT devices to PCs and automotive systems. This is a high-profile role requiring strong relationship-building with team members, customers, and partners (silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs).

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of Ubuntu image projects for embedded devices across multiple hardware platforms.
• Coordinate across cross-functional teams (engineering, product, services) to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage scope, timelines, risk, and quality; provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary delivery liaison between Canonical and customers, ensuring clear expectations and satisfaction.
• Build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, and partners/vendors (silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs).
• Represent Canonical in customer-facing engagements; facilitate alignment on strategy and execution; participate in in-person team meetings 2-4 times per year in interesting locations around the world.

What We're Looking For

• Proven project management experience delivering large, complex customer-facing projects, ideally in embedded systems or device-level software/hardware integration.
• Ability to coordinate across engineering, product, sales, and external partners such as silicon vendors, OEMs, and ODMs.
• Familiarity with Ubuntu images, embedded Linux deployment, and open-source software ecosystems.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, manage risk, and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to Have

• Experience in robotics, IoT, edge computing, or automotive sectors.
• Knowledge of Canonical's products and services; relevant certifications are a plus.
