About the Role A Project Manager overseeing Total Waste Management operations at a large automotive manufacturing facility in Ft Wayne, IN, focusing on environmental compliance, safety, and program leadership. What You'll Do
- Ensure Total Waste Management contract requirements are met with emphasis on environmental compliance.
- Lead the Total Waste Management Team to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, plant policies, and corporate procedures.
- Foster a proactive Total Waste Program, including emergency preparedness.
- Advise TWM Team members to execute their scope, develop talents, and expand roles.
- Perform regular satellite and hazardous waste area inspections with TWM Managers and Technicians to understand operations, compliance, and waste generation.
- Support waste reduction and landfill-free initiatives, finding innovative solutions for hard-to-manage waste streams.
- Prepare Facility Evaluation forms for vendors not currently approved to ensure they meet criteria.
- Communicate changes or discrepancies in contract/subcontract requirements, financial/service issues with the integrated team, subcontractors, and supervisors.
- Ensure Manifest tracking logs and Waste Characterization Binders are accurate and reviewed.
- Coordinate coverage for absent TWM Team staff to maintain seamless day-to-day operations, including documenting hazardous waste. What We're Looking For
- Experience leading waste management programs in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, safety, and government compliance.
- Ability to manage vendors, contracts, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong inspection, documentation, and corrective action skills.
- Problem-solving and proactive communication abilities. Nice to Have
- Experience with landfill-free initiatives or waste reduction programs.
