Role Overview

The Associate Project Manager oversees early-stage development process execution for high-voltage transmission and substation projects. This position coordinates key engineering, estimating, supply chain, and pre-construction activities. The successful candidate ensures projects are execution-ready with defined plans, identified risks, and mitigation strategies. This role focuses on early-stage development and does not manage active construction execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of comprehensive project plans with a focus on cost, schedule, and execution.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, estimating, supply chain, land, environmental, regulatory, and legal departments.

• Manage the integration of project scope, scheduling, and budget requirements.

• Prepare comprehensive RFP packages to competitively source engineering, survey, geotechnical, LiDAR, and construction services.

• Support estimating teams by providing detailed scope definitions and assumptions for financial models.

• Identify project risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.

• Provide regular progress, issue, and risk updates to organizational leadership.

• Act as a liaison with local, national, and international agencies and regulating entities.

• Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

• Experience: Zero to five years of experience managing engineering and construction projects with responsibility for budget oversight and project execution.

• Technical

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and project scheduling tools is required. Experience with high-voltage transmission or substation project development is highly beneficial.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• Strong communication and public relations skills for site and community-level interaction.

• Familiarity with RFP package preparation and supplier management.
