Project Manager Label Packaging

About the Role Abbott Diabetes Care's Artwork and Labeling Development team is seeking a Project Manager Label Packaging to lead labeling strategy, execution, and delivery for our digital health tools. In this cross-functional role, you will drive end-to-end labeling changes, ensuring accuracy, regulatory alignment, and brand/product development collaboration. You will partner with stakeholders across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, and PMO to deliver high-quality labeling solutions on time, proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. This role also includes leading and developing a team, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment and enhancing labeling workflow quality and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Develop and guide the strategy for implementing labeling projects, aligning with company goals and department activities.
• Balance, align, and prioritize day-to-day activities of the core group to support Artwork and Labeling Development objectives.
• Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Operations, Quality, Marketing) to develop labeling and packaging that meets FDA and international regulatory requirements, internal brand/design standards, and manufacturing specifications.
• Anticipate future issues, resolve current problems, identify root causes to prevent recurrence, and develop alternatives to major business problems.
• Create, manage, and approve change control packages in the product lifecycle management system, ensuring documentation is accurate and justified.
• Communicate and coordinate labeling and documentation approvals with other departments and sites.
• Manage and supervise a team of labeling specialists and coordinators and/or production artists, fostering collaboration, accountability, trust, innovation, and respect.
• Drive labeling process workflow and identify improvements to maximize productivity while improving output quality.

What We're Looking For

• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree (BFA, BA, BS). 2+ years of relevant experience in Technical, Quality/QA, or Operations, plus practical knowledge in Project Management roles. Knowledge of Regulations and Standards affecting Medical Devices and IVDs. Ability to problem solve, manage projects, influence internal/external groups, and provide leadership. Proven ability to lead people and projects and to motivate and influence others.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Project Management. Experience producing packaging and labeling artwork (consumer or medical packaged goods). Understanding of legal issues in packaging (trademarks, copyrights). Knowledge of digital/print materials and printing standards. Supervisory experience. Computer literacy in applicable software. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to mentor others, communicate across levels, and maintain accuracy and proofreading quality. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
