At Kybera, we’re building the infrastructure that enables autonomous systems to operate safely, reliably and at scale in complex industrial environments.
Our technology brings together mapping, simulation, fleet intelligence and autonomous vehicles, starting with ports and logistics where autonomous technology needs to work safely alongside people, existing vehicles, infrastructure and legacy systems.
We’re a small, highly technical team solving difficult real-world engineering problems and helping move industrial autonomy from development and pilots into everyday operation.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager – Autonomous Systems to lead and coordinate the delivery of complex technical projects spanning product development, engineering, safety and certification, and customer deployments.
As Kybera’s first dedicated Project Manager, you’ll sit at the intersection of our technical teams, leadership and customers, turning ambitious roadmaps into clear, executable plans and keeping delivery moving.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll bring enough structure to create clarity and accountability, without introducing unnecessary process or bureaucracy. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape how Project Management develops at Kybera as we grow.
What you’ll do

Own project delivery across product, engineering, safety, certification and customer deployments, managing plans, milestones, resources, budgets and dependencies.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring risks, blockers and competing priorities are identified early and driven through to resolution.

Lead customer deployments, including site readiness, integration, testing, commissioning, operational trials and handover across UK and international sites.

Partner with customers and external stakeholders, keeping expectations, actions and delivery commitments aligned.

Provide clear project visibility, giving leadership useful updates on progress, priorities, risks and decisions.

Build pragmatic project management processes, tools and ways of working that support Kybera as we scale.

5+ years’ experience delivering complex technical or engineering projects.

Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing multiple interconnected workstreams.

A strong understanding of technical product development, integration, validation and real-world deployment.

Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills, with the confidence to work with highly technical specialists.

Strong project planning, risk management and problem-solving skills.

A practical, hands-on approach and the judgement to know when process helps and when it simply gets in the way.

Experience using Jira, Confluence or similar project management tools.

Flexibility to travel to customer and deployment sites in the UK and internationally.

Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, automotive, industrial automation, functional safety, certification or other safety-critical engineering environments would be a real bonus.
