About the Role A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Architectural Engineering to join its Milwaukee team. This role offers an opportunity for a technically credible leader who combines engineering excellence with strong project and client management to drive high-performance building systems projects across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, sustainability, and commissioning. What You'll Do

  • Lead engineering projects from initiation through successful delivery, ensuring scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and contractual requirements are met
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate activities across multiple concurrent projects and teams; develop task lists, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets
  • Assign responsibilities, provide direction, monitor performance, and ensure accuracy and quality of technical work
  • Coordinate with external subconsultants and clearly define project responsibilities; serve as primary client-facing representative and maintain relationships
  • Participate in proposals, client presentations, and preparation of contractual agreements; identify scope changes with client authorization
  • Review invoices and support follow-up on outstanding accounts; mentor the technical development of team members; promote cross-discipline collaboration
  • Contribute to engineering design and production standards; support project profitability and financial performance
  • Leverage CAD/Revit and load-calculation tools; ensure compliance with applicable codes What We're Looking For
  • Progressive experience in engineering design and/or project management; proven track record delivering projects from initiation through delivery
  • Strong understanding of scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations; ability to manage multiple projects and teams
  • Experience in engineering consulting/architectural engineering/MEP/building systems or closely related professional services
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; PE license preferred but not required
  • Excellent client-facing communication, leadership, planning, decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of applicable engineering and building codes; CAD and/or Autodesk Revit experience preferred; familiarity with load-calculation software a plus
  • Technical background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering; HVAC, Plumbing, Fire protection, Lighting, Electrical distribution experience a plus Nice to Have
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client relationships in a consulting environment
  • Exposure to energy-efficient building systems, sustainability initiatives, and commissioning processes Compensation & Benefits
