Project Engineering Manager (m/w/d)

We plan and realize demanding investment projects for customers in the chemical industry, bio-refineries, and sustainable process industries. As Project Engineering Manager you will assume technical overall coordination of complex plant construction projects from concept phase to commissioning.

For our Industry Team we are looking for a Project Engineering Manager (m/w/d) with deployment at various locations in Germany.

Projekt- & Engineering Management

• Responsibility for the technical project execution including engineering scope, quality, interfaces management, and resource control
• Technical leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams with disciplines such as process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical, instrumentation and control, construction, and HSE
• Handling of different project phases from concept studies, basic engineering, FEED, detail engineering, to site supervision and commissioning
• Ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality-compliant project execution in close cooperation with project management
• Responsibility for technical integrity and consistency of planning results across all disciplines
• Coordination of internal and external project participants and management of relevant interfaces
• Support in technical decisions, risk assessments, and problem solving during the project

Angebots- & Projektentwicklung

• Determination of engineering effort and support in budgeting and pricing during the bid phase
• Assessment of technical opportunities and risks and development of measures to achieve project goals
• Participation in the development of technical concepts and economic project solutions
• Support in customer presentations, bid negotiations, and business development

Kunden- & Stakeholdermanagement

• Central point of contact for technical questions on the customer side
• Representation of all engineering disciplines to clients, partners, and other stakeholders
• Close collaboration with project management, departments, and customers for the successful implementation of complex investment projects
• Support in building and maintaining long-term customer relationships

Qualifikationen

Erfahrung

• Successfully completed studies in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable engineering field
• Several years of professional experience in engineering, plant construction, or project business in the chemical, petrochemical, energy-intensive, or process engineering industries
• Experience in leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Solid knowledge in handling concept studies, basic engineering, detailed engineering, EPC or EPCM projects
• Experience in construction, commissioning, or realization phases of industrial plants is advantageous

Fachliche Kompetenz

• Comprehensive understanding of complex engineering processes and their interrelationships within industrial and investment projects
• Experience in the technical and economic control of demanding plant construction projects
• Ability to approach technical challenges holistically and develop sustainable solutions
• Strong communication and presentation skills with customers and project partners
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
