About the Role This is a high-impact, versatile role at the center of our engineering ecosystem, acting as a vital link between custom customer needs and our core technical delivery. You will join CRFS Cambridge to deliver bespoke, mission-critical engineering solutions for elite global clients, turning cutting-edge concepts into functional realities. What You'll Do
- Deliver bespoke internal and customer projects from initial scoping through integration, testing, and final handover.
- Lead platform integration of advanced RF receivers into payloads for manned and unmanned platforms, including drones and specialised vehicles.
- Design robust, safe power distribution solutions for RF and direction finding equipment to optimise field performance.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, performing RF surveys and translating requirements into functional engineering solutions.
- Provide surge engineering support to systems engineering pods during peak prototype and validation phases to sustain project momentum.
- Produce fit-for-purpose integration notes and compliance evidence for future reuse and ongoing support. What We're Looking For
- Proven background in RF system integration within telecommunications, aerospace, or defence sectors, specifically with manned or unmanned systems.
- Proficiency in RF system testing, power distribution design, and troubleshooting of complex electronics and RF components.
- UK SC Clearance (or eligibility) due to government and military stakeholder work.
- Hands-on prototyping experience and design-for-manufacture capability; familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks is a significant advantage.
- A proactive, cross-disciplinary engineer who is eager to learn and broaden technical skills, with equivalent practical experience highly valued; applications welcomed even if not meeting 100% of criteria. Compensation & Benefits
