About the Role
OHLA USA is seeking a Project Engineer to support heavy civil construction projects in San Diego, CA. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 3-5 years of field experience, with a focus on safety and teamwork on site. This is a hands-on, on-site role that contributes to successful project delivery. What You'll Do
- Assist in project planning and field execution on heavy civil construction projects.
- Coordinate day-to-day on-site activities, including coordination with subcontractors and site personnel.
- Ensure safety compliance and maintain documentation (QA/QC, progress reports) in accordance with Cal OSHA requirements.
- Maintain strong organizational and time-management skills; contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Support access to all points of construction sites across varied climates and environments; adapt as needed.
- Leverage underground pipe and wet utilities experience where applicable. What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Heavy Civil Construction background with 3-5 years of field experience.
- Valid Driver License with clean driving record.
- Safety oriented; 30-hour Cal OSHA certificate required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; strong work ethic.
- Ability to function as a team builder/player.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Previous City of San Diego or Caltrans experience is a plus.
- Previous underground pipe and wet utilities experience strongly preferred. Nice to Have

- Salary: USD 90,000.00 - 115,000.00 per year (California role).
