Job title: Project Engineer
About the Role Haseko Hawaii is seeking a Project Engineer to support field and project management across active construction sites. You will review invoices and submittals, track budgets and schedules, perform quality control, and coordinate with contractors, consultants and regulatory agencies to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Review, verify budgets, cost coding, and process vendor invoices and progress payments
- Review contractor CPM and 3-week look-ahead schedules; monitor progress
- Manage material submittals, RFIs, and coordination with consultants/architects/engineers
- Review project plans to ensure compliance with standards; perform quantity takeoffs and assist with budget calculations
- Produce and file daily reports (BMP, Diaries, Time & Materials, testing docs)
- Assist PM with permits and renewals
- Conduct daily field visits for QC and QA on HCMG projects; manage BMP/erosion control; ensure compliance
- Support Haseko Health, Safety, and Environmental Officers as needed
- Conduct pre-final/final inspections and document punchlists; support project handover
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- BS in engineering or construction management; 3+ years construction experience; Hawaii driver’s license
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, MS Project, CAD; strong written and verbal communication; analytical skills
- Experience reviewing submittals, RFI processing, budgets, scheduling software (MS Project)
- Knowledge of plans, specs, governmental and utility standards
- Comfortable with field visits and documentation
Nice to Have
- Hawaii Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
- Safety certifications such as First Aid/CPR/AED and OSHA 30 is a plus
