Job Title: Project Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

• The Project Electrical Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems and works on construction projects.
• The role ensures that all electrical activities are executed safely, efficiently, within approved specifications, budget, and project timelines, while complying with applicable engineering standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution:

• Review electrical drawings, designs, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and project requirements.
• Plan and coordinate electrical installation activities in line with the approved project programme.
• Supervise the execution of electrical works, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, cabling, containment, generators, transformers, and other electrical systems.
• Ensure electrical works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Coordinate electrical activities with civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, and other project teams.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of assigned electrical works.
• Identify potential project constraints and recommend appropriate solutions.

Technical Supervision:

• Supervise contractors, subcontractors, technicians, electricians, and other electrical personnel.
• Inspect electrical installations and verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical proposals, and installation details.
• Conduct inspections and ensure proper testing of electrical installations before handover.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide technical solutions.
• Ensure proper installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure that all electrical materials and equipment used on site meet approved technical specifications.

Quality Assurance & Control:

• Implement quality control procedures for electrical works.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Maintain proper documentation of inspections, tests, approvals, and commissioning activities.
• Liaise with the QA/QC team to ensure electrical works meet project quality standards.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical activities comply with project HSE requirements and applicable regulations.
• Enforce safe working practices among electrical personnel and subcontractors.
• Ensure appropriate isolation, lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and electrical safety procedures are followed.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and risk assessments.
• Immediately report electrical hazards, incidents, and unsafe practices.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all electrical activities.

Materials & Resource Management:

• Prepare and review electrical material requirements based on project scope and programme.
• Monitor the availability and proper utilisation of electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
• Inspect delivered electrical materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
• Minimise material wastage and prevent misuse or loss of project resources.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of required materials.

Project Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on electrical activities and project progress.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, commissioning, drawings, and technical submissions.
• Track electrical work progress against the approved programme.
• Prepare and review site
