Project Coordinator (1 Position)
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Coordinating county-level activities and stakeholders in both Kakuma and Dadaab.
- Supporting implementation of the LEAP project and working closely with relevant government officials, schools, communities, and other education stakeholders to support systems-level change.
- Supporting assessment and analysis of education systems, including identifying systemic barriers, root causes, gaps, opportunities, and existing good practices.
- Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement to identify key actors, power dynamics, and opportunities for building coalitions for education reform.
- Supporting coordination of participatory processes for co-creating education systems- strengthening strategies, action plans, and change pathways with stakeholders.
- Implementing activities in accordance with GCN policies, partner requirements, safeguarding standards, and relevant government policies and frameworks.
- Participating in education sector working groups, technical forums, coordination meetings, and policy platforms relevant to the project.
- Supporting resource mobilization and promoting inclusion across all education systems interventions.
- Preparing regular narrative and technical reports.
- Performing any other duties related to education systems strengthening as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, or any other related field from a reputable institution of higher learning. A Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Over 8 years of experience, preferably in the NGO sector, in advocacy, partnership-building and networking, approaches to improving learning outcomes, resource mobilization, project implementation, coordination, reporting and monitoring, public education systems, and working with children affected by conflict/crisis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to engage and mobilize diverse groups of community members and stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation skills, including familiarity with training in participatory methods, and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with significant experience working with children affected by crisis/conflict .
- Commitment to human/children’s rights and an understanding of rights-based approaches and their application.
